R-7 Alliance

Robotics Teams

Team Driven collaborates with the two other local schools’ robotics teams. The Broncobots, from Lee’s Summit North High School, and Team Titanium, from Lee’s Summit West High School. These three teams come together to form the R-7 Alliance.

R-7 Robotics Complex

The Lee’s Summit R-7 School District built a robotics center for all three high schools.  In this complex, there are build shops for all three teams, as well as a shared area for team meals.  The district also gave the teams space for a practice field.  The three teams have joined forces and built a field.  With this new space, the R-7 Alliance is able to work hand in hand with each other, give advice, and practice without driving across town.

Goal

Work together to bring the teams closer together and to plan events that affect all three Lee’s Summit teams. The agenda includes:

  • Fundraiser Kickoff Breakfast
  • Open Houses
  • Tri-Team Dinners together every Saturday during season
  • Tri- Team Scrimmage

The R-7 Alliance was created to help communicate the message of FIRST. Together, this alliance will help spread these ideas to the community, middle schools, and elementary schools. The Alliance helps encourage the eighth graders at all three middle schools to join robotics at their respective high school the following year.

Open Houses

Team Driven and the two other Lee’s Summit robotics teams hosts an annual three team Open House on the second Sunday of February. The festivities will occur simultaneously at each teams’ build site.  Team Driven helps encourage everyone to go to all three schools’ build sites and see the progress each team has made so far in the season.
