FIRST Robotics

In 1989 inventor, physicist, and entrepreneur Dean Kamen founded the organization For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology (FIRST). Kamen noticed that the number of American students in the science and technology field was widely decreasing, and he wanted to inspire young adults to join the vast field of science and technology. Kamen's vision is "to transform our culture by creating a world where science and technology are celebrated and where young people dream of becoming science and technology heroes."
